Day 7 and 8 - Yellowstone NP

Motel Outside Yellowstone> Yellowstone all day> Camp outside Yellowstone> Yellowstone all Day> Camp in Grand Teton

So after a good night’s sleep and a refreshing shower we set off for Yellowstone National Park. We quickly got into the park keeping our eyes open for any and all animals we could find. We saw some elk on the way in but didn’t see anything else right away. We stopped for John to get a fishing liscence and continued on searching for “Mega-fauna”… really big animals. As we were coming around one of the bends we saw our fist buffalo right on the side of the road… which Travis continued to get way too close to. The views were amazing all throughout Yellowstone with waterfalls, canyons, mountains, animals, and even geothermic activity. Now most people know that Old Faithful is located at Yellowstone. But, most people don’t realize Yellowstone is the center of a Supervolcano!!!!,.. which causes all of this geothermic activity.

We spent the first night in an amazing campsite in the middle of woods and mountains. We had to be very careful because of bears but we survived the night and woke up extra early to catch as many of the animals as possible. We saw herds of buffalo… in the road… bears, elk, and other small animals throughout the park. John attempted to catch fish but there were none to be found in the streams he tried.

It was another long day at Yellowstone as we made a few more stops resting up at Old Faithful (which erupts every 60-90 minutes). We left the park having conquered everything we wanted to see and set camp in Grand Teton National Park just South of Yellowstone.
