Day 9 - Grand Teton and Salt Lake City

Day 9
Grand Teton National Park> Lunch in Jackson Hole, WY> Wiffle Ball at a Mormon Church in Idaho> Hostel in Salt Lake City, UT> Walk around Salt Lake City, UT> Sleep in Hostel Salt Lake City, UT

After two long days in the Yellowstone woods we woke up from our tent to find that it rained over night, but it had turned into a beautiful morning. We had a quick breakfast and slowly took showers as we re-organized the car and recovered before driving to Utah. We drove through the rest of Grand Teton stopping at some amazing views of a river with snow-capped mountains in the background.

We realized we needed internet to plan more of our travels so we stopped at the Jackson Hole, Wyoming, McDonald’s. We got some food, uploaded a blog post and began planning. We realized we were ahead of schedule and decided...

TO HEAD TOWARD VEGASSSSSS and LA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The rest of the day was a great drive. We drove south through Wyoming and stopped briefly along the way in Idaho to play some wiffle ball at a Mormon Church in the middle of nowhere. John of course won 6-0 but it ‘twas a good game none the less.

We continued onward to Salt Lake City. We arrived at the hostel and got our room. We then walked down toward the center of Salt Lake City….. the most organized city we had ever seen. It was a big grid system with the Mormon Church and office Building right in the middle.

The city was clean and filled with happy families… a culture shock to a New Yorker and a Philadelphian. We returned to the hostel, had a beer while watching a storm approached, and hit the sack for some much needed mattress sleep before four more national parks.
